Add sequential numbering to an Access Database

I have received an access database from a client and it was not set up to use Autonumber. So I have a blank column at the beginning of my data. How would I be able to add numbers increasing from 1 to x in this column?

Obviously it can be done by hand, but there are several thousand data points, so that is kind of a waste of time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Best way to learn Power Query?
Read M is for (Data) Monkey book by Ken Puls and Miguel Escobar. It is the complete guide to Power Query.
You should be able to add an Autonumber field to the table "after the fact". It will automatically populate the field.
