Add In won't stay connected

This is going to sound like a dumb question but I am going to ask it anyway.

I have Power Pivot V2 installed. Every second or third time I open Excel (2010) Power Pivot is gone from the ribbon. I have to go to addins and recheck it to get it back.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do to fix it so it is "permanent"?

Thanks and have a great day.

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
Here's what I've noticed with other add-ins (though I don't use power pivot). If you open two excel applications at the same time (not two workbooks, two seperate excel programs), the second one generally won't have the add-in loaded. This also can happen if you have VBA code that opens a workbook.

To test, get yourself to the point where you open Excel and the add-in is missing. Close the entire Excel window. Hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete and check the task manager for any open instances of Excel.exe. If you see it then you are experiencing my problem.

Unfortunately this is a common problem with PowerPivot!

Sometimes re-installing the add-in works but in other cases a re-installation/repair of Office does the trick. I think most people just put up with it.

Hi, My problem is the PowerPivot Ribbon does not load. I have a "personal.xlsb" that is in my XLSTART Dir and open 'hidden'. When I start Excel, my PowerPivot Ribbon does not load. I can got to Com Add-ins and load it but the next time I start Excel..it's gone. I have found a workaround but it is not ideal, I do not like to start with a workbook visible. I have save a blank workbook in XLSTART which opens 'not hidden'. I am using Win 7 and Office 2010 Pro 64 Bit. Does anyone have this problem and does anyone have a solution. My path for Excel shortcut has .... /e at the end (to open with no workbook).
