Add if formula help

Hello,

In column A I have dates in DD/MM/YYYY format. About 100 rows
In column B I have amounts. About 100 rows

In a partircular cell say D1, I want sum of all amounts if the date is on or before 31/03/2019
In a particular cell say D2, I want sum of all amounts if the date is after on or after 01/04/2019.

Could someone help me build the formula?

=sumif(a1:a100,">="& date(2019,4,1),b1:b100)

Same criteria but instead of date I want it to pick from a particular Text.
