Add classification to new data in database

Hi everyone, I'm having a bit of trouble finding anything on the following problem i've been having:

I have a database with about 20 columns spanning some 40 thousand rows, I will be adding about 3 o 4 thousand rows every week... The issue is that these rows do not contain all of the columns. The last two columns were added manually by me, to classify into usable categories for a pivot.

However, I would like to avoid the unnecesary task of having to classify by hand every week 4 thousand entries.

I could add "If" formulas for that column, but I would have to add 150 "if's" in a single cell ( for example: if(column a="aaa","category 1", if(column a="bbb", "category 2", if.....) and so on.

Is there any easier way you might think of that will automatically add, for each row, the corresponding category, based on previous data?

Thank you in advance...

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
