ActiveX Option Buttons Not Working Properly

I'm trying to set up some basic ActiveX Option buttons ("radio buttons"). I gave them the same group name and linked them to the same cell. However, clicking any of them just makes the first one toggle between clicked and not clicked, and the linked cell just toggles back and forth between true and false.

Any idea what might cause this?

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
I am new at this but I just did the same thing and I had to link them to different cells to show value. It worked for me but I don't know if there's a better solution

my mistake I actually did link them to the same cell. this is the vba I used

Private Sub Q6aN_Click()
If Q6aN.Value = True Then Worksheets("Data Analysis").Range("AA2").Value = 9
End Sub

Private Sub Q6aY_Click()
If Q6aY.Value = True Then Worksheets("Data Analysis").Range("AA2").Value = 8
End Sub

Q6a is the question number and Y is yes button and N is no buttion
