Acrobat and Excel '07

I'm running Acrobat 8.1.5 professional on my workstation in the office--it's deplorable when it comes to interfacing with Excel '07. I don't think that's the fault of Adobe, because I'm sure that Acrobat 8 wasn't built to work with office '07. Does anyone know if Acrobat 9 was built for Office '07?

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Out of interest, what are you doing with Acrobat? Are you just printing PDFs or are you doing more detailed stuff like thumbnails and navigation panes?

Also, have you checked the Adobe site to see if any issues are listed there on the forums?

The reason I ask, is that Office 07 has a PDF writer (a free download). In the latest Office service pack, it's built in.

I'm writing incredibly graphical performance reports for a large hospital group. Several charts & colours per page, etc. I've tried the built-in PDF publisher, but it does not keep formatting, pushes charts off the margins, and also takes way too long to work. I've also tried PDF995, but that is only suitable really for small jobs.

OK, it's not just the usual stuff. What is "deplorable"? Lousy reproduction? Slow performance? Something else? And are you just printing using the PDFWriter or are you using the Distiller?

Slow performance definite (about 12 minutes to produce 8 pages of graphs--each page has 4 graphs plus page headers, footers, multicolours), slightly off reproduction ie if the legend on the graphs is shown as 5 series one on top the other, it may cut off the 5th one-- it's just stuff that looks amateur when you're trying to produce a corporate report for a board of directors-- we're spending more time making PDFs and binding reports than we are actually analysing data and reporting on it. Thanks for the links - i'll take a look
