My colleague encountered a strange issue with a simple sum:
<colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody>
22.05

-7.05

661.00

-232.00

-20.75

6.20

-427.85

-1.60

Sum:

-3.41949E-14
</tbody>

<colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody>

</tbody>
If you reorder any of these it fixes it to zero sum:
<colgroup><col width="64" span="4" style="width:48pt"> </colgroup><tbody>
-427.85
661.00
-1.60
22.05

-427.85

0

How is this happening with such simple maths?

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).

Hi all (and apologies for the duplicate post - couldn't see this one after I posted so assumed it had not worked).

I'd assumed a floating point issue, but the reasons that were given on the MS help site wer for very small/large numbers, which these are not. They're all static numbers, so threw up an interesting question.

Thanks for the help!
