Hi! I need to create a code that does the following:

-Reads a column from access with a certain set of reference numbers (let's call this column A)
-Reads a column from access with descriptions that correspond to each reference number (let's call this column B)
-Finds a matching reference number in excel within a large spreadsheet(reference nums are in column M, in a different order than they were in access)
-Pastes description that corresponds with reference num from Access Column B into Excel Column N

Does anyone know how to do this or how to get started?

Thanks!
Hayley

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
In access, using the tables ,(internal access or external excel)
make a query that joins and pulls the fields you want.
Then you can export it to excel if needed.

Also fairly simple if dataset is not too large (in the tens of thousands) is to import the two columns from Access into your Excel spreadsheet, then you can just use typical Excel lookup formulas such as index/match right in the workbook. You can set the Excel workbook to easily refresh the data as needed.
