HI,

I havent had that much to do with Access and want to know if its suitable for a task I have.

Basically I want to create some sort of rostering system where I can input a range of employees and the hours they are able to work as well as times they are unavailable. Then I need to create rosters for shifts that need a certain amount of suitable people (within the individual constraints). I also want to be able to make it even workloads as much as possible and that type of thing.

Is Access an option? If not does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,

Good name! (y)

Whilst I usually default to Access for a lot of things, I think Excel might be the better tool for this job (just my opinion). There is a free roster template available here.

Plus there have been some recent posts regarding rosters on the Excel part of this forum.

HTH, Andrew. :)

Thanks Andrew,

More what I want to do is enter all the details and have Access or excel or whatever spit out a suitable roster that meets all the criteria.

Get what I mean?
