Hi everyone,

I have a few access databases that were created by someone else. Each of them has a corresponding 'record locking information' file that I cant open. There is a little padlock icon on each of these 'record locking info' files. What are these? how do I delete them if I need to? what is their purpose??

Many thanks

andrew

Excel Facts

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
I assume that it is an .LDB file
This file is created when an Access database is opened and keeps a track of who is in the database and what records they are editing.
This file should delete itself when the last person leaves the db. Sometimes when the system crashes it will leave this file behind but normally when the db is used and closed again it clears it. You should be able to delete this file as long as no one is using the database it is associated with.
