i would like to create a database that is accessible for 5-10 people at a time to utilize that can be done simultaneously .
we would like to be able to each input data and be able to see what the other has done.
someone told me that it could be done over the internet .
the database is about 3-400 people.
minimal information.
name address a couple of other pieces of information .
any ideas.
could it be done securely.
or at least with a password access.
someone told me it would be best done in access.
we would like to be able to extract the data and put it in another vehicle like a spreadheet etc.
thanks

Hi

Yes it can be done in access, though you have the choice of who hosts your website, either paying someone or hosting it from your own pc constantly connected to the net.
For what you want, you'll need a host that supports ASP (active server pages), the writing of which you could either learn or pay someone to develop it for you.

Check out ASP on the net, one site about 4 years ago offered a good starter package, they're at www.brinkster.com.

With the database remember it is only the records that are locked not the actual database, which allows for more users having access to it.

Hope this helps

John
