I have a database with Linked Tables. The database has multiple users, some with little access skills.

Is there a way to automate the updating of the Table Links? Some people are untrainable? lol

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
Once the tables are linked there's not much needed.
why do you keep needing to relink?

Agreed. I have worked a lot with linked tables too, and never had a need for the users to do anything.
The links are automatic and do not require them to do anything.

So I would be interested in hearing more of how these links work currently, and why the need for user interaction in maintaining them.

I assumed you had to update the Links. Then why is there a ribbon icon and the Access feature to update the Linked Tables?

No, the only time you really need to use that is if the linked tables move, and the path saved in the link is no longer valid.
Think of it more as a "re-link tables to a new location". If your linked table locations and file names never change, you should never have to use it.
