I'm running Access XP SP-3, every time I try to import a spreadsheet, it crashes with the " Sorry for the inconvenience message"

The wizard does not even beging it just crashes right away. I had office re-installed a week ago and it made no difference. Anyone hear of this one?

Running on Office XP Pro

Thanks

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Have you tried to repair and compact the database? You may have a corruption issue.
Alternatively, are you using a split database with the backend buried many folders down? I had a similar hassle a while back, and it turns out that Access XP has a 128 character limit on the file path to a linked table (including the table name). I moved my backend to a folder on the desktop, and the problem went away. MS has documented this problem in the Knowledge Base and a more permanent fix is to download an update to the Jet database engine.
