Hello.
I have a column of cells that contain a first and last name. Is there a way I can trim that cell from the full name to an abbreviated name as follows:

cell B2 shows "Ann Smith" - this is provided for me.
I want cell C2 to show "ASmith"

Do I need to break Ann Smith into 2 columns, then populate the ASmith in the 3rd column?

Thank you!

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
Hi & welcome to MrExcel
If you've only ever got 2 names try
=LEFT(B2,1)&RIGHT(B2,LEN(B2)-FIND(" ",B2))
