I have no preference for the Members Online box order, but it would be unusual on forum software for it not to be linked to the equivalent of current visitor.
We'll have to see if smozgur says it is separately amendable on XenForo.

Yes, it was recently changed. The Moderators determined that this more useful/beneficial to them (and is more consistent to what you see across other forums as well).

I am curious as to why you think it is not a good idea, and why you think "Last Seen" is better, especially if you are not a Moderator...

because I can see last activity on top not mixed (like in A-Z)
sure, I am not a mod so why users see that list if this is for the mods only?
maybe it should be hidden to mods layer?
like in MyMrExcel ?

To people asking questions and receiving help, they would be most interested in seeing if the person helping them is still online, in which case the easiest way to find them would be alphabetical, right?
What difference would "Last Seen" make, in that case?

That's really all it boils do.
