I know that this is a bit off topic! But I have a SQL question!

Does the newest version of SQL have its own operating system - order does it function with Windows???

Hi Ed --

SQL Server (that's what you were talking about?) runs on Windows Server. It won't work on any other operating system. To run SQL Server properly takes more training than I want to know about

Just for the record.

MS SQL Server 2000 can be installed on Windows 2000 and above and does not per se require server-version of Windows.

However, in a production- and professional enviroment MS SQL Server are installed on a server with appropiated Windows-version,

A fully functional test-version is shipped with MS Office XP Developer and it works excellent on a standalone computer
