A request for help for Merge & Center cells without effecting a formula

Get help while writing formula
Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.
We always advise to avoid using merged cells if at all possible, they cause all sorts of problems with formulas and stuff.

Keep in mind that when you DO have to merge cells, only the top left cell gets used (for data or formulas), anything in ANY of the other cells gets deleted - thats just the way it works
