Hello;

I received earlier this morning (5:38 AM EST.) the following Notification:
DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL!
*******************************
alexhusty has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Error: "Opening This Excel 2003 File may be Dangerous." ?? - in the General Excel Discussion & Other Questions forum of MrExcel Message Board.

This thread is located at:
http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=572460&goto=newpost

But there's NO reply from "alexhusty" posted as we speak (6:25 AM EST.). The latest reply # 9 posted Aug 18th, 2011 by Peter SSs.

Occasionally, a Notification may arrive late or not at all. But in advance, a bit strange!

Is their an explanation ??

Thank you.

But there's NO reply from "hiezelclinton25" as we speak. The latest reply # 14 posted Aug 30, 2011 by me.

Was it yet another case of possible SPAM or inappropriate reply ??

Regards.

We get a lot of spam, and try to clean it up as soon as possible.

It's probably safe to assume that a dead-end post such as the two you mentioned have been removed as spam. Exception... Occasionally the person who posted it realises that they made a dumb error and deletes the post themselves.

My recollection is that only MVPs & above can delete their posts, so surely it wouldn't be a dumb error? :biggrin:

I'd forgotten that you needed to be an MVP to delete your post...
People can still edit and trash the content, if they do it within 5 minutes. But that doesn't result in the 'vanishing post' syndrome ;)
