64b Excel 2016 Files Crash

I've got a weird problem. I have an XLSM file (with some VBA) that works fine 95% of the time. The other 5%, it crashes on opening, and then will continue to crash on opening - until I open and save the file with a different version of Excel (2016-32bit).

Anyone ever resolve this issue? Even an explanation of the error would be helpful to my client.
