Hi,

I have 4 years of data from my solar monitoring software (by SolarAnalytics).
Data includes 30min increments for usage, solar generation and feed bacl to the grid, and even down to the 12 channels for greater detail.

Im seeking help in finding the best way to query this data using Excel or Google sheets.

Query's would allow me to report how much electricity was recorded during each window period ie 11am-2pm or 10am-3pm etc. As well as allowing to define the date window.

I can post a sample spreadsheet of the data shortly.

Thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
what version of excel - if later version 2021 / 365 - then you could probably use filter() - just depends on how the data is laid out and structure

A sample sheet would be good - or use XL2BB

Therefore -

A SMALL sample spreadsheet, around 10-20 rows, would help a lot here, with all sensitive data removed, and expected results mocked up and manually entered, with a few notes of explanation.

This will possibly enable a quicker and more accurate solution for you.

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data and will allow us to copy/paste your sample data into our Excel spreadsheets, saving a lot of time.

You can also test to see if it works ok, in the "Test Here" forum.

OR if you cannot get XL2BB to work, or have restrictions on your PC

then put the sample spreadsheet onto a share

I only tend to goto OneDrive, Dropbox or google docs , as I'm never certain of other random share sites and possible virus.
Please make sure you have a representative data sample and also that the data has been desensitised, remember this site is open to anyone with internet access to see - so any sensitive / personal data should be removed

Make sure you set any share or google to share to everyone

Hi GLOPro,

I had an awkward situation similar to yours, where the earlier vendor provided data in 'Hourly' manner, while the current provider offers only in 30 minutes interval.

Faced a bit of challange in cleansing, formatting and harmonising them to align.

I had discontinued using solar analytics as I was confident, I can make one.

Today, I just resolved my long pending issue of time conversion where I get the Electricity Supplier data in 30 minutes interval and wanted it to be converted to every 'Hourly'.
Share you data and I can help you.

Anand
