3D reference does not update

I use 3D references to sum up data from a number of sheets.
The quite basic formula is along the lines of:
=SUM('Data ->:<- Data'!A1)

with 'Data ->' and '<- Data' being the two delimiter sheets.

The formula works fine, except that it does not update automatically.
If I change one of my data sheets, I have to move it outside the delimiter sheets, and then move it back in. And then the sum updates.

Can I changes this is some way? Is there a setting I need to lok at, or is it due to file size (the file in question is approx. 4,3 MB but I have experienced the problem in other files as well).

I have Excel 2003 installed.

Thanks
Soren

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Hi

I'm not sure if this will help, but check whether your calculation is set to automatic or manual via Tools|Options|Calculation.
