2nd blank window when opening - VBA/Macro

I am having issues with opening spreadsheets after editing/creating a macro. It opens a 2nd blank window when opening the file, if I attempt to close either one, it closes the non blank one regardless. I have researched and I do not have anything in
%appData%\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART\
as far as a PERSONAL folder


The only temporary fix is to type in 'excel /o' in the task search bar
