Hello all,
I making a reference to the Excel 11.0 Object Library in another application for it's speech capacity. However when I rolled it out I discovered some of my users were using 10.0. This created a missing reference and all sorts of badness. as a work around I just removed the speach features, but I really wanted to keep them. I know how to check to see if a reference is included and how to see if it is broken. But I don't know how to add one on the fly. Is there way to do this? Is there a general approach commonly used to this problem?
Edit:
One other question. I have also noticed that if someone makes a file with a reference to an OLDER version (such as 10.0) newer versions seem to automatically upgrade to 11.0. It just won't iterate downward. Is there any way to make a reference to the 10.0 file even if your PC has the 11.0 file?
