Hi-

I have built in 2013 PowerPivot but the general population of users are on 2010. When i passed my tool to a 2010 user for testing they got the following error

Initialization of the data source failed.

Check the database server or contact your database administrator. Make sure the external database in available, and then try the operation again. If you see this message again, create a new data source to connect to the database.

All datasources are saved to the same server that the tool resides on so it is not an access issue.

Is there an issue with backward compatibility and if so is there a way around it?
