Hello and welcome to MrExcel

This is more of a logic issue than an Excel issue. Out of curiosity, is this for bridge?

I think I have a solution, if you can follow the layout below. This is assuming a team of 2 versus another team of 2, with 3 rounds. No player can play with or against the same player in the 3 rounds. Players are numbered 1 to 20. I have assumed games are played on tables.

Solution
Thank you. This is for a Golf Tournament. I will substitute Tee for Table. You don't know how grateful I am. I know it is a math problem. But You guys on Mr. Excel are the best.
Thanks again. This is perfect.

You're welcome and I'm happy to help.

With a round robin system to get one team playing every other team you line them up like I did for Team 1, then you hold player 1 while you rotate all the other players clockwise for each subsequent round. This works perfectly for team 1. But we can't use the same method for team in this versus situation given it would result in opponents meeting more than once, so I needed to use a slightly different method to shuffle the players in Team 2. I did this by moving players up or down 2 rows in each column for Team 2. It mostly worked but I had to swap 2 pairs in the final round to ensure there were no 're-matches' so to speak.

Good luck with your tournament!
