Im new to Excel and was wondering if it were possible to make or find a copy/paste code that would generate 16 different characters either permutation or combination with repitition. The 16 characters consist of 6 letters (A-F)and 10 numbers (0-9)
Ive found permutation calculators but 16 is to large and will only hold 10.:(
Please help even if its to learn the code. Thanks

Quick Reference

Does anyone know how i would obtain a quick reference by placing a letter or number. i have over a million characters with 3 different columns (a, b, c) ex: if column A B or C has 3 different names and i wanted a quick reference to column B name. How would i go about doing this?

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
Im sure that this can be done. But I havnt received a response. Is there anyone who can help or maybe I didn't explain the question to the fullest extent?

As you say I'm sure this can be done but I don't understand what you want per your 2nd to last post. Care to explain this in more detail?

Re: Quick Reference

Ok I have 1,048,576 hexidecimals that ive broken down into 16 different columns that all equal 65,536 each. Example: 00000 - 0FFFF. 10000 - 1FFFF. 20000 - 2FFFF. all 16 until i reach F0000 - FFFFF.
The hexadecimal is in column A and for each one, i have a name in column B. Column C has a number. Some have different notations in column D.
What i need to find out is if i can get a persons hexidecimal (column A) by searching or typing in thier name (column B) somewhere on the spreadsheet or vice versa. Also is it possible to quick reference by color if i were to fill a couple of lines in each column?

You can, but we need some clarification, part of your posts says all the hexadecimal numbers are in one column and the first part says it is in 16?

If in one column, it would be easier if you put the name in column A and use a VLOOKUP to get the hexadecimal number from Column B. It can be done the other way, but that requires INDEX MATCH.

On 1 page i have 17 different worksheets. In worksheet1 (first tab) i have all the hexidecimals. Worksheet2 I have just 00000-0FFFF. Worksheet3 is 10000-1FFFF. worksheet4 is 20000-2FFFF and so on until i reach the last one which is F0000-FFFFF.
All the names are in column A and the hexadecimal is in column B. Also is it possible to rename Column A and B?
I am hoping to be able to type a name somewhere, hit enter, and it will take me to that hexadecimal
