Highest number out of demand or planned volume.

Hello all, I have two cells in C1 and C2 with values totalling 15. I have another two cells in F1 and F2 totalling 30. What I'd like to do is create a formula that will look at the above values and always gives me the highest number? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Totaling across a range based on text string

Not an excel guru at all but what I'm looking to do is search a column for a text string and if it finds it run a total sum based on the value to the left. I'm looking to do this across two sheets and look for the same text string and same column. Any help? Thanks up front!!
