    How can I count # of rows that match a criteria in multiple cells within the same row?

    Hello, I've been trying to figure this out on my own and had no luck. What I'm trying to do is sum up # of rows that match across three parameters - Course, Unit, and Activity #s.     comparing multiple rows with column in excel result in new coulmn

    I wanted to compare the alphabets with 4 columns for every 4 rows. For example, A = [aabc;dbba;a] B = [aabc;baba;c] C = [aabc;dbba;b] D = [bcac;bcbc;a] ABCD are the columns. If we look at the table above shows first four rows, "aabc" repeated in 3 columns. So, out of 4, 3 gets correct...
