    relative vs absolute (mix)

    Hi I want an example when mixed cell reference is needed. for example A$1 or $A1. in all examples I am seeing so far, using $A$1 instead of A$1 or $A1 can fix the issue as well. then I am wondering why need the mix when $A$1 can be used, the link below is one of the examples i have seen so far...

    Automatically incremement excel workbook references?

    Hi all, I am trying to automatically increment workBOOK references using the INCREMENT function. I have so far thi: =INDIRECT("'pathname part 1" & A$1 & "pathname part 2" & A$1 &"'!G24") But it is giving me reference errors. Is there a way to do this with this code?
