    New to VBA: Doubles

I'm just starting out. I am aware of what a Double is, I just don't understand why it defaults to it. When I enter this: PercentError = 100.*abs((ExcelPi-myPi)/ExcelPI) the "." after 100 changes to #. Why is it automatically changing it to a double? Thanks, pevbaroxs
