VBA Project Protection Problems

I am using Excel 2000. I want to protect the macros in my workbook from being viewed and edited.
I right clicked on the project in the project explorer window and then went to the protection tab in the properties window. I checked "lock project from viewing" and entered the password and confirmed.
After that, I select the project and it still allows me to view the macros and edit as well.

Can someone plese tell me what I am doing wrong?

Randy, try closing the file and then re-opening it. I seem to remember seeing somewhere that the password won't "take effect" until you close the file.

Let me know if my memory is still okay.
