Userform??

I am unfamiliar with the userform and its functions as was wondering if it would be worth looking into to to accomplish the following:

I want the user to view a form, if you will, into which the user must enter information (7 or so "fields"). I then want that information to populate a template. It would essentially be creating a new document. I was then thinking of adding buttons that would call upon subroutines to save, print, email, etc.

Does the userform sound like a way to accomplish this, if it can be accomplished at all?
