Unable to record macro

I hope you can help me. I have WindowsMe and Excel 2000 on my Inspiron 3800 laptop. When a try to record a Macro I get the "record macro" window where I can name the macro, however, after I click "okay", I get a small window with an explanation point that says "Unable to record." The only option on this window is to click "okay." I checked my options on the "security" window and it is set to medium. I set it to "low" and it didn't seem to make a difference. I have no idea why this is happening. Do you? Thanks for your time.

Sounds like you are missing a Visual Basic library in your setup. Check out http://support.microsoft.com for more information. I tried to look it up just now, but for some reason I'm unable to get to the site, but I know that this issue is in there. Just search on the message "unable to record" and you should find it.
