Macro Challenge

Hi Group! Any help with a macro for this would be great.
Problem. A spreadsheet of sports competitors (competitor number, name, event scores and total score) has to be divided into five winning divisions from highest score to lowest score then 1st & 2nd from each division with scores , name etc. to be displayed.
In the event the number of competitors is not divisable by a whole number then the remainder are to be added to the bottom division/s eg. 40 competitors equals 5 divisions of 8 competitors. Or (if can't be divided by a whole )42 competitors equals top 3 divisions of 8 and bottom 2 divisions of 9.
