Refreshing Pivot Tables (XL97)

Posted by DT on December 20, 2001 4:31 AM

After changing the date items in the source data field from say, May to June dates, and refreshing the pivot table, the date field in the pivot retains the 'old' itmes - showing the new June dates AND the old May dates (even though they no longer exist in the source data).
This appears to be a 'feature' and I can find no way of getting rid of the old items, other than deselecting each one individually in the pivot (not ideal).
I hope I'm not missing anything - is there a workaround?

Hello,

The solution to your problem is I think pretty easy, just right-click on your pivottable and in the menu appearing, select 'Refresh Table'.

How are you refreshing ?

Also, if you have info in the pivot table that should NOT be there, double click on it - this will drill down and show a new sheet with the info that makes up that dubious info : have a look at it : maybe you still have some hidden rows or columns in your data - that has caught me out many a time !

This a feature. You'll have to Hide the obsolete
dates as you're currently doing or re-create the
PivotTable.

Try unchecking "Show items with no data"
