Getpivotdata

Let say you have the following formula pointing towards a table named PIVTAB1
=GETPIVOTDATA(PIVTAB1,"1 sum of Fund Value Q4/00")
to retrieve the Fund value of fund 1 for the Q4/00 period.

Is it possible to replace 1 and Q4/00 with cell addresses. If so, what would the format be?

Thanks in advance,
Ian

Hi Ian, would this formula work for you (assumes you have the value 1 in cell A1 and Q4/00 in cell A2)?

=GETPIVOTDATA(PIVTAB1,A1&" sum of Fund Value "&A2)

Regards,
Barrie

Exactly, perfect

At the same time you were responding I queried www.alltheweb.com in english with "mr excel getpivot data" and got an old mark w post
10078b.html
stating more or less the same thing. That is one powerful search tool as Aladin and others have suggested.

Thanks again,
Ian
