Hyperlinks

Ok I'm new and I'll try to make this short.
Say I have a sheet which I log all major information on. The information is in sequential numbers: First column = 999 then the info pertaining to 999 is in the cells to the right. I need total hours worked on this number to show up on my main sheet in one of the cells to the right. I've been entering all the individual time in another sheet and then linking the total to my main log individually by creating a blank time sheet titled 999 for example. Then going to my main log and hyperlinking each number individually. PLEASE HELP. THIS IS A MAJOR PAIN. I ACTUALLY DO THIS FOR SEVERAL CRITICLE EXCEL SHEETS. I know there has to be an easier way. I just don't know where to go.

Can I ask why you are using hyper-links instead of simple formulae? If you wouldn't mind sending me an example of what you're doing I'll have a look for you.

The reason I am using hyperlinks is because that is what our computer guy has us doing, but I am sorry to say that I DO NOT agree with him. It is a very timely process. Thanks.
