years 1900 Vs 2000

In one column I need dates from last century like 07/12/01 (year 1901!)... but in the next I need current year dates like 07/12/01 (year 2001).
I have some formulas like -calculate age-...
How can I format "yy" the columns to work with 1900 or 2000 as needed in the same worksheet?

Laura --
If you're on a Mac, switch to the 1900 date system via Preferences.
Use custom format mm/dd/yyyy for the cells with dates.
