How can I obtain these functions in my version of Excel?

It depends which version you are using. Assuming that you have Excel 97, go to Tools Add-Ins and you should see boxes for Analysis Toolpak and Analysis Toolpak VBA. Check these boxes and the extra required software should be installed so that the functions work. If you can't see these boxes then you will need to install further information from your Excel CD.
