trendline equation

I have a series of measured data points (non-linear)
and am trying to come up with a mathematical formula
to best represent the data. Is there any way I can do
this? For example, is there any way I can know the
equation of a trendline if it's say a 6th order
polynomial equation?

i believe this is how you can do it.

with your data, create a chart, any chart.

rightclick on your line of data in the chart and hit ADD TRENDLINE.

a box will pop up with 2 tabs: TYPE and OPTIONS

play around with TYPE.

now go to OPTIONS. Choose DISPLAY EQUATION ON CHART checkmark.

there you go.
