Time Savers

Posted by IML on April 23, 2001 11:42 AM

Sorry to be so broad, but does anyone care to share their favorite little excel time saver? Have you found something "new" that was a big help and you wondered how you lived before knowing it? A few recent "discoveries" of mine:

1) Toggle between different worksheets by right clicking on the tab scrolling buttons (cpod I think, on this board)
2) Enter a non formula date by hitting semi-colon with the control key down (Dave Hawley web site - tips and tricks)
3) Update a graph by dropping and dragging new data onto it (Mr. Excel quick answers)
4) Virtually anything under Edit - Goto - Special

Thanks,
Ian

Ian, a list of all keyboard shortcuts (listed
by category) is available via the Help topic,
"Use shortcut keys in Microsoft Excel".

To get the Syntax for a formula.
Type the formula eg; =Vlookup then push Ctrl+Shift+Enter

Go to the Insert>Names>Define

If anybody comes up with vitually unknown good one I'll put it on my Website with credit to the person.
