Shared Workbook question

Posted by Tanya on December 31, 2001 2:42 PM

I have a shared workbook at work, but every now and then,
we run into the problem of 2 people adding information to the
same cells. When this happens, 1 person will have to re-enter
the information in a different row because you can only accept
1 set of data. The minimum save time, is to save workbook every
5 minutes.

My question: Is there anyway to make Excel save workbooks every minute,
instead of 5 minutes? Or, is there anyway to reduce this
problem of multiple people trying to add information to the
same row?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Tanya,

Have you read the Excel help topics related to shared workbooks? They might cover your questions more thoroughly than anyone here can.

I have read the Excel help topics, and I know what options
Excel gives you. But, Excel still leaves room for this
type of problem, multiple users trying to edit the same
cells. I was just trying to see if anyone using this
board has come up with some sort of a workaround for
this problem.
