Settings? Corrupted sheet?

I have a workbook which contains several worksheets. One of the sheets is acting strangely.
If I type a formula into a cell it treats it as text. If I copy & paste a formula from another sheet it acts like I did a Paste special by value.
If I copy a formula from another sheet and paste special formula it will work correctly.

Is there some setting somewhere that needs to be changed or do I Have a corrupted worksheet?
Can this be corrected? This is quite a complex project & I would hate to have to recreate the sheet.

Check the following settings and compare them in two circumstances: 1) While having a "good" worksheet open, and 2) while the "corrupt" one is selected.

Go to Tools/Options/Transition/Sheet settings and view the status of these checkboxes. To test the theory, check a box and then try to enter a formula into any cell on the sheet. These checkboxes should "normally" be unchecked. Hope this helps!
