Quotation marks

When you try to save a worksheet containing
text to a tab-delimited file, Excel automatically
encloses in quotation marks any text containing commas.
It also doubles existing quotation marks.
It doesn't seem to matter if the text is pasted from
a word document or opened directly as text by Excel.
Is there any way around this?

Defining the field as text rather than general
results in #### for any text containing commas.

In your "Save As" -> "Save As File Type", try using different file types.
