Some basic things to check
Hi,
Here are some basic things to try (if you haven't already).
First, can you print a test page?
go to start-->Settings-->printers-->
rt click on on the printer you're using and click the "print test page" button (if that doesnt work try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver)
If the test page is OK, then see if any of these suggestions help
1. Select an area of your spreadsheet that contains data and, using the File-->Print command (not the shortcut print icon) click the "print selection" blender button. This will guarantee that your printer is getting a section of the worksheet with the text in it. If "print selection" works it may mean that you have a "print area" unknowingly selected. You can clear it by going File-->Print Area-->Clear Print Area
2. Your printer may be having trouble with the font you're using. Find another program (like a word processor) that IS printing characters successfully, find the font that it's using (Arial and Times New Roman are almost always recognized), and change your Excel font to that.
3. Copy the section of your spreadsheet containing data, open up a new workbook (not worksheet) and "paste as values" (Edit-->Paste Special, click on "values" blender button) to get rid of any hidden code, etc. that could be interfering with the print job. Then "print selection" from the new workbook.
