Password --- It slows down opening the file

I have an Excel file that loads in 10 seconds.

If I do nothing to the file except "Save As" with a password to open, and also a password to modify, the time it takes to load the file goes up to 68 seconds.

Does anyone know what's causing this? Is there a way around this problem?

Try save as password to open only, quicker???
Try re save as XYZ_New and passwrd any quicker..
