opening .txt files greater than 65,536 rows

I am trying to find a way to open a large text file that is greater than the number of rows in an excel speadsheet. Lotus123 will open several sheets to accomodate the file size, excel97 will only grab the as many rows as one sheet holds. Is there a way to correct this??
