Not all the contents of a cell are shown in another - Help please!

If i put text in workbook1\sheet1\a1
and then use a formula in workbook2\sheet3\b6 for example using the formula "=workbook1\sheet1\a1"
then instead of getting all the text i just get part of it. Can anybody help. I am nowhere near the limit of 1000+ characters. I want workbook2 to be automatically updated.

One possibility :-
Go to Tools>Options>Calculation and make sure it is set to Automatic.

Another possibility is that you did get all of it, but the cell is not wide enough to display it all.
Just make the cell wider, and the text should appear.
