Margins don't fit dialog box

Every oncein awhile when working on a spreadsheet, a dialog box stating margins don't fit (or something like that) appears. I hit OK, but when I do a print preview, the preview will not show me the full page, it'll often be a tiny page on the screen and a sheet that normally fit on one page will now be on 100's of pages.
Any help would be appreciated.

On page setup change setting to pages: long and wide, to force printing to one page wide, you can let Excel find the length by keeping that box blank! JSW
