Help with Mouse Control

I have a problem. When I have certain sheets protected, I can not point and click at cells with my left click button. The only way to manuever around the screen is with the arrow keys or right click. The normal arrow becomes a hand like I was selecting a button. It is as if the entire sheet has become a macro. Does this make sense?

It does make sense, I've had the same problem on a previous spreadsheet, long gone.
Not sure if this will work, but try placing the mouse on the area where it becomes a hand. Turn off any protection. Right click the area, see if you're offered the macro button screen menu. If you are, click on 'Assign macro' option. See which macro the 'button' refers to, delete the name.
